The suction mount does what it's supposed to do. It'll grab onto any nonporous, flat surface and provide a firm mounting location for several of the Garmin GPS models (I am personally using a c550). However, a bit of caution must be exercised if this is used on a window and left there while driving in locations of high heat. I am just about ready to order my second replacement suction mount because the rubber suction cup has been adhering to the window by melting the rubber. The suction cup remains permanently fixed to the window until it's pushed or pulled from its position. After which there is a nice black ring of rubber left on the surface of the window. After the melted rubber has been removed, the suction cup no longer holds suction on any surface. The seal (or lack thereof) generated by the irregular surface of the suction cup perimeter is no longer sufficient to support the GPS. I may consider picking up a friction-weight mount for the dashboard next time.

Well, the arm works well and positions in almost any position, but the suction cup attachment is poor. It was listed when I did a search for a "dashboard" mount, but I can only get it to stick to my windshield. My dash (standard Chevy Trailblazer) has a little bit of texture and apparently that is too much for it to handle. I don't think there are many dashboards smooth enough for this unit to attach to.

I recently purchased this after having my Garmin GPS60csx for about a year. Like I said above it is of SOLID construction made in the USA. It fits perfectly and just rests in the cradle. I drove over some good bumps and tight turns and it stays in place just fine. The only reason for the 4-star rating instead of 5 is that is lacked instructions, although a nice full color brochure of all RAM products was included.



There are 4 screws and 2 bolts you need to screw in with a Phillips screwdriver which is pretty straight forward, however like I said before a simple instruction sheet would be nice. It is easily adjustable so you can get just the right angle. I highly recommend it for anyone who has this model GPS and would like to get additional usage in your vehicle.

This is the same mount type that shipped with my Garmin nuvi when first purchased. It had been stolen from my car in a smash and grab. I was happy to finally replace it and not rely on the little towel set up that I came up with. Within a week the suction mount has ceased to...suck. Or rather, it does suck, but not in the way intended. It just keeps falling off after 3 min of press down. I do not keep it on when I leave the car so as to avoid another theft and excess heat. I am disappointed, but It has to be a "one off" defect as this model mount had worked well in the past. Back to the silly towel improvisation. I have not tried to return this item yet.

The replacement package I received was exactly what the description says it would have. I recently lost the clip for my Garmin Nuvi 205w and I was looking for a replacement. This is what came with my Garmin when I bought it. Within 20 seconds I realized there is no safe place to put it in my Honda Civic. It might be because of how slanted the windshield is but the only places I can reach it while driving are palces where I would have to look far away from the road. Anywhere that I can see it without taking my eyes too much off the road, I can't reach it. Completely useless!
