Great. The square shape fits perfectly in the square inlay of my Jeep Grand Cherokee. It has a firm friction grip and doesn't tip over from the wight of my TomTom One XL (which is a large gps). The only thing with the product is that the suction cup from my TomTom usually has a firm suction to the windshield but did not stick well to this bean bag mount. I used the plastic adhesive disk that came with my TomTom and stuck it to this mount and now the suction cup holds perfectly.

It's hard to believe that your GPS doesn't go flying off the dashboard when using this weighted beanbag mount, but it absolutely doesn't. And it's much easier to use than a suction-cup mount, particularly if you live in an area where you need to remove or hide your GPS.

This GPS pad works great. I use it for a Magellan 4000 GPS and it holds it securely on the dash of my Honda van and also on a Nissan truck. It does not slide around or move even when breaking hard or stopping suddenly. It is easy to set off the dash into the floor when I need to get out and leave the vehicle. I highly recommend this mounting pad if you don't want to have a GPS mounted to your windshield.

The reason I bought a dash mount was because the suction mount kept falling and after the third fall it broke and was impossible to use the mounting bracket again. I cleaned the windshield and suction pad but it kept falling. I am hoping the friction dash mount works better. I really miss my GPS.

This product did not work as described on my 2002 Honda Accord's dashboard. The unit would move every time I hit a bump or made a sharp turn and it came very close to falling off my dash. After a few blocks I removed it before I got into an accident by trying to catch it if it fell. I assume this product works well with some cars based on all the other positive reviews but I can guarantee this mount is not the right choice for a 2002 Honda Accord.

After doing hours of research for a dash mount for my Garmin Nuvi 205w, I decided to give this one a try, and so glad that I did. I looked at the bean bag one and this one, and really wanted a smaller footprint and less bulky mount to put up on my dash. I was concerned about this mount and it rolling, flipping, or tumbling off the dash. To my surprise and delight it never moved !! I have tried it in both of our cars, even used it in the van for our vacation. Fits all three and sits there holding it's position. Some have made notes about a residue that is left behind, I experienced this in 2 of our vehicles, but when I cleaned the car and wiped the dash down, the `residue' was gone. Most likely from the silicone bottom on the mount that holds it in place. Love the flexibility and the fact that you can bent this mount to contour to your dash, and then the swivel mount allows you to adjust the Garmin to see it at any angle. Mounted in my car I took a few corners hard to try and tumble the mount w/ the Garmin, but no luck, it just sat there telling me where to go "literally". Granted I am sure you can tumble it of the dash if you hit a hard core bump or drive erratically, but everyday driving & circumstances it does it's job. If the bottom silicone gets icky from lint, dirt, debris, all you have to do is wipe it down with a cloth and good as new !!



Love the look, the small foot print, and the flexibility. I would recommend this mount to anyone that is looking for a more stylish, but completely functional dash mount, that can go with you most anywhere and in any vehicle.

I had been using the "bean bag" up to the time I purchased this mount and while the bag did not tip, it still slid and skewed slightly on the dash and over a long distance, this became annoying. This mount stays in the same place and I have not had any problems with it tipping but I have not tried taking corners rapidly to test this either. The bottom sticks nicely but mine did not leave any residue as experienced by some others. The mount has worked great for my nuvi and forms very nicely to my dash board.

I've had no problem with it sliding around on the dashboard, even when I've had to slam on the brakes. When I park my car, the mount easily slides under my front seat, leaving no sign that there was a GPS in the car.

Great product! It does the job. Much better than sticking on the glass with suction cups. Highly recommend this to everybody. It would work even if you were in a four wheel drive going off road or on bumpy roads, no problem at all, very stable. It is so much easier to set up also if you removing the GPS from vehicle every night or setting it up in another vehicle. Can be moved closer to your reach anywhere on the dashboard also. Highly recommended for normal driving and it can handle bumps and sudden stops and turns, no problem at all :)

We love this critter! Like a techno bean-bag buddy. Um...well, on the strength of all these reviewers who LOVE the Garmin beanbag, I ordered one with my new 855.



Mistake.



It may work fine for law-abiding citizens, but the slightly sloping dash of my BMW roadster, combined with any abrupt acceleration, sends the darn thing flying! I have had it one day, and have retrieved it at least three times.



I am thinking of returning it to Amazon, if I can get them to take it back without the original packaging; the @#$%! blister pack was enthusiastically destroyed in my efforts to get this thing out of that infernal plastic. Evidently the fiends who used to package CDs have now been employed by Garmin.



Since I am currently on a cross-country trip, I will try to make this thing work, perhaps with gaffer's tape. But that sort of defeats the purpose, doesn't it?
